Sliding Doors.

Sometimes the dumbest things make the best impact on your day. I have not taken my usual train to work in eons (see: lay off), and even when I did, I was riding in a car on the opposite end of the train. Segue to this morning when a guy who looked like a mixture of Paul Walker and some guy who’s not Paul Walker, is standing opposite me on a crowded rush hour debacle from hell.

Rarely do people catch my eye on the train, and when they do, it’s merely foreshadowing to the dude who’s about to follow me for three city blocks, but this guy did. Also, everyone who commutes is old and dresses in the dark.

…Or carries multiple tote bags and toast.

Anyway, I shared my moment with him and our dualing overpriced inner ear headphones, thinking it was over. Then, I realized he was on my subway line. And then on my train in the next car. And then had my same stop. And then worked in the same building!

Needless to say, he was not at my desk.

I have no idea why, but it really made my day. Probably cause it was this dopey, small moment of syncronicity in a big place. I hope it happens again tomorrow.
