If homes does get nominated, I call dibs on being @trentkowalik’s date. Clearly past winners get to go back again, right?
I thought this headline meant it was closing early. Also, teenagers are not there to see Billy Shakespeare performed. They are there to get an up-close look at the perfection that is Jude Law’s ass.
Not only am I seeing this baby for the first time, SO IS JUDE LAW.
Damn, he’s wishing he wrapped it up that night FORSHEEZY.
In honor of Jude Law’s opening night in @HamletBway09.
Jude Law on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy has Jude read poetry to the camera, except it’s the lyrics to “Poker Face,” which is brill.
Also, there is Nerf duel. I win.
I have no idea how he can retain anything else with five full acts of Shakespearean text in his brain.
All I’d-like-to-do-a-lot-of-obscene-things-to-Jude-Law aside, he is beyond amazing in Hamlet on Broadway. He’s totally fearless in this part and knows that text inside and out. It was sick.
The set is simple yet makes amazing use of the space, and the sound designer added some smart choices for a three-hour plus long play by keeping me interested during scene changes.
Not only is Jude excellent in the show, but the rest of the cast are no-messing-around Shakespeare-loving actors from the West End production. And they all have LEGIT British accents. (Did ya hear that, Americans in Billy Elliot?)
If you ever wanted to see a Shakespeare show, please go see this. Also, run like the effing wind to the rooms of rest during intermission if you want any kind of shot of getting back to your seat in 15 minutes.
The post-show stage door scene, by the way, is a crazy debacle. Never seen anything like it. There’s police tape on the opposite side of the street, in front of the St. James, for jackasses to stand and scream and wave. There’s barricades up on either side of the stage door to keep a clear path for the cast to exit. There’s at least eight [hot, 20-something] cops assigned to solely make sure no one gets trampled when he exits.
His SUV shows up, his security walks around the car, he walks out the stage door and all hell breaks loose. Screaming, cameras in your face; total insanity. I have no idea how I got his autograph. He only signed a dozen, if that, and then hopped in his car.
And, yes, he is perfection in person. He can impregnate the world for all I care. PERFECTION.
FYI: The past 11 shows I’ve seen since December 2007 have all been Billy Elliot. This was a nice change. I’ve made it all the way from County Durham to Denmark now!
Here’s a clip of the first single off Born and Raised, called “Shadow Days.” I’m excited to share the first bit of sound from the album… Been...
Freaking. Love. Her. When @VictoriaBeckham comes to New York, (and we LOVE when she does!) she always makes a splash. On top of showing her newest...
