Why is @AdAge citing @Starbucks as being so “innovative” in the digital space? Oooh! You set up a Twitter account and a Facebook page and post shit! A gigbillion other brands do the exact same thing every damn day.
This is not selling you any more coffee. It’s a more direct way of providing customer service. And that is something to be proud of, but that’s about it. </end rant>
Pause. Since when is there THANKSGIVING BLEND? Jesus.
i kind of got guilted into buying a pound of starbucks’ thanksgiving blend. from my favorite barista, bronwyn (isn’t that the most fabulous name ever?). she said it matched my (orange) scarf. and that they were trying to sell 20 pounds of it by the end of the day. and she didn’t make me feel stupid when i couldn’t quite pinpoint what type of coffee maker i have (“the brand name starts with a ‘D’…?”). and, well, i really like it when she says my name.
also, why the fuck can’t starbucks keep the christmas-y holiday cups at bay until december and have a nice pattern like this on their cups for november? i just don’t fucking understand it…
On December 26, we are evolving both of our loyalty
programs into one - My Starbucks Rewards - and we think
you’ll like it even better.
As a special thank you to charter members of Starbucks
Gold like yourself, we will extend your benefits, including
the 10% discount, through January 5, 2010, at no additional
cost. You won’t need to renew because when the new
program launches, you will automatically be transitioned
into the Gold Level of My Starbucks Rewards and your
welcome packet, including your personalized card, will be
sent to you. Please make sure your account is updated,
including your mailing address, by clicking here.
So why are we changing a good thing? We’ve heard from a
lot of you on ways we can make the program better. As a
result, the new program will be free. While it will not
provide the 10% discount, it will offer benefits such as free
flavored syrups or brewed coffee refills that many of you
have asked for. Best of all, the new program will recognize
and reward you for every visit with the ability to earn free
drinks. That’s right - free drinks for something you are
doing anyway - visiting Starbucks! To find out more visit
starbucks.com/rewards.
In the meantime, we hope you’ll enjoy your Starbucks Gold
benefits through the end of the year.
We’re excited about these coming changes - a better
rewards program, with no annual fee, and a variety of
additional benefits - and we hope you will be too. Stay
tuned for the coming details. Until then, we’ll see you
at Starbucks.
Regards,
Your Starbucks Rewards Team
Just gave Via a try. I don’t think I’d ever drink it unless I was homeless or so desperate for caffeine, I’d suck a discarded filter from a garbage can, but it was better than Sanka. If I knew what Sanka tasted like, that is.
I am just excited to always know my SBux Gold balance!
Starbucks recently launched 2 new iPhone apps, myStarbucks and Starbucks Card Mobile. Using Starbucks Card Mobile, you can pay for your bev on your iPhone.
